I have met a man who claims he lost over N30,000,000 investing in real estate in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. Some real estate company who has paid Omo-Onile(Land Grabbers) over 25m in Ibeju Lekki and already regretting transacting business with land grabbers.
Most land in Ibeju Lekki has a document backed by the government which can be government acquisition but these land grabbers won’t tell you. They have the survey only. Of which they are interested in your money and you as the buyer won’t bother to do due diligence of that particular land you want to buy.
I remember a particular time. The company I worked for was trying to secure some acres of land in Ibeju Lekki. We even have a sure direct link and we were shown two good places within Ibeju Lekki to acquire.
With our experience, we asked for a survey and chart up the two places and discovered that it is under acquisition. It even showed what the Lagos state government is planning to do on the same land.
Apart from that, we tried several other places too. Just a few are genuine land
What I can guarantee you if you want to buy any land in Ibeju Lekki is go for land with a survey and certificate of ownership (CofO) authentic title. If not don’t bother.
You will hear some real estate company telling you the land title as Excision in process and Gazette in process or survey in process, this that under process. There are even fake documents to these claim titles. You will even be surprised that some have no paper. Shine your eye!
